I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this update.

I’m not going to do a rundown of all the new features and things, because everyone will do that, and you can read it all here.

There are things I LOVE.

The new backpack feature is amazing. With my Windranger build I always end up dropping stuff on the ground. This makes it a lot easier to do stuff while running from spot to spot, instead of having to get somewhere safe and dick around with dropping things and picking things up and blah blah blah.

I like the map reworks, though I didn’t understand wtf was going on with the old rune spots until I read the update. I love that there are two bounty runes per side, per spawn. And the shrines are great.

I like PARTS of the new pre game. I like that you can pre-buy stuff, and say what lane you want and what lane you think the opponents will take. Thats all great.

HOWEVER I truly, deeply, and with every part of my artistic soul, hate and loath the side swiping versus screen. it’s revolting and tacky and poorly done. Additionally, its 100% unnecessary and adds nothing to the game.

I’ve noticed that the new bot AIs are a bit derpy. I tried a hard bot game, and two of my five teammates, just stood in the forest and did nothing. I tried two games actually. I figured the first time that it as just a glitch, and restarted, but nope. Warlock just stood there like a gormless idiot with his thumb up his butt while the tower right next to him fell, and did nothing. How bloody pointless. They ended up at level 13 at the end of the game. WTF bots? Y U NO HALP?

I’m also not wild about the new cheesy sound effects, like when someone dies, theres a little sword noise or something from the interface, and the extra squashed interface. Ill get used to the HUD, but the sound effects are annoying AF and need to die.

Overall there are things I like and things I loathe.

EDIT:

After researching (read: lazily googling), its pretty obvious to me that the new hero, The Monkey King, Sun Wukong, is some kind f marketing sell out. It’s very clearly based on the character from the 2014 Chinese fantasy/action movie The Monkey King, the main character if which is called Sun Wukong…. Seriously? Oh and a The Monkey King II was released Feb 2016. Did the think we wouldn’t realize? I’ll never play the sell out character. LAME.
